About Us

Eoin Grey, or What's in a Name?

Eoin, Irish spelling of our founder's last name, and Grey, his grandfather's last name. We love to pay homage to our Irish heritage. All the while, we understand that Irish is not something you see everyday, and this speaks to its mysterious beauty. We are dedicated to showcasing this enigmatic language and are always ready to assist with pronunciations!

Enfleurage, or The Art of Dying.

Eoin Grey was founded in 2020 by Brandon Owen, who first discovered his dream to create perfume back in 2008 when he found a passage in a homesteading book that tenderly described the process of enfleurage: an ancient extraction method that was perfected in Grasse, France. The delicate process entranced our founder with its deceptively simple premise. He saw that it was more than merely an extraction method, it was an incredibly beautiful form of art and expression. The precision required to prepare the glass trays, the care that must be taken while gently arranging the flowers, the exquisite balance between life and death.

This method is now used in our fragrances today. It is the capturing of a flower's scent as it slowly fades away, in order to preserve it forever.

It is through the lens of this sacred process that we approach everything at Eoin Grey. Art is never perfect, but it should always be meaningful, thoughtful, purposeful, and beautiful. These four pillars are the foundation of our philosophy, and everything we do stems from them.

Fragrance, or The Elixir of Emotion.

Smell is perhaps the most powerful of the five senses. It can transport us back to a holiday 25 years ago. It can instantly conjure memories of a long forgotten lover. It can make us feel safe, or sad, or excited, or aroused. While our other four senses are for the present, smell is a time machine that takes us to the past. Eoin Grey understands the power of scent, so much so that our wish is that one day in the future as you pass a stranger in the hustle and bustle of rushing home, that you catch the faintest hint of one of our fragrances and stop to think back to a time in your life when we helped make a moment just a little more special.

Integrity In All, For All.

Offering incredible products to you is not enough for us. We take the same level of care and attention to detail we put into our fragrances and apply that to our business practices as well. Every selection of our signature fragrances is handmade by our founder in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. The fresh plumeria blossoms we use are from small families in Hawaii. Our boxes and labels are made in America. Our bottles are the only pieces we import. They are made in France because Pochet has the most wonderful perfume bottles, and they have been making them for over 400 years. Most of our fragrances are vegan, and we never test on animals, or violate IFRA recommendations without your knowledge. You should never have to worry that your fragrance is dangerous or unethical, and we are committed to making sure that you don't have to spare the thought.

Our Irish-American Flare in Fragrance.

We have nothing against the French language, or the incredible history France alone boasts with fragrance, but as an Irish American company, we opted for poetic Gaelic terminology to define our fragrances. The traditional french terms that are most commonly used: Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, and Parfum don't have set concentrations, and can range greatly. With intention to be more transparent, we use terms that have specific concentrations:

Uisce Naofa - 22%
This translates to "Holy Water" and is our highest concentration. It should last about 8 hours on your skin, and at least 12 hours on clothing.

Sioscadh na gCrann - 11%
This is a poetic way to say "Rustling of the Trees" and is our middle concentration. It should last about 6 hours on your skin, and at least 10 hours on clothing.

Leoithne Bhog - 4%
Our softest concentration translates to "Gentle Breeze". It should last about 4 hours on your skin, and at least 8 hours on clothing.
